Only the deadest of the dead wood remain. What do you expect? Most are unemployable and they know it. They aren't going to be so stupid as to rock the boat and jeapardise their cushy numbers.
Nothing will happen at the AGM and those remaining will just roll over and take what's coming without a whimper.
Its all over bar the shouting. The fat lady has sung. The IT dept. is dead and gone at L&G. Most of us have moved on and hopefully the rest of you will get the message eventually before you're shown the door.

Pretty gutless comment I'd say.... and selfish too!
'Moved On?' - sounds like your feeling a bit superior here and before you think I'm one of those who stayed working with the 'dead wood' as you so charmlessly put it, I didnt....
I walked out as soon as we were outsourced... I'd rather eat grass than work for TATA. Did you take redundancy and sign away your right to protest by agreeing to their gagging order?
'coz if you did YOU have a lot less to feel proud of than those who stayed behind... and certainly a lot less than those of us who just walked without wanting to take blood money from thieves
Some people dont have the luxury of a choice so dont knock them
I dont know if there will be fireworks at the AGM or not... I hope so but even if there isnt it wont stop me (and many others) from fighting on..........

Oh dear, its gone very quiet on here, almost a month with no postings. What happened to the 'name and shame' website? Have they got to you, warned you off, maybe bought you off? Or maybe made you all redundant so no one cares any more? nothing has changed except the timing. we all know there's been a lock down maybe to make sure the AGM runs without hassle. people here sifting through loads of documents and e-mails, including admissions by legal and general's alex and babs to TCS's gazza toad on the fraud and cover-up. explosive we hear. read a bit of the second letter to timmy and one bit made me larf: "ratan tata need not be concerned by lazy managers in the UK because they have worked very hard to continue the scheming and the thieving from l&g". things still moving but slowly but surely. lots of suprises coming through........

"Only the deadest of the dead wood remain. What do you expect? Most are unemployable and they know i". Thank you "Mr Hardly Suprising". Its easy to make sweeping generalisations when you can remain anonymous so just to let you know my name is Nigel Stirzaker. Ex L&G now at TATA. Please feel free to contact me directly via my L&G email, the accounts still works and I'm in the directory. If your mad about something fine, but please don't take it out on people you've never met. We all have our stories to tell and opinion we'd like to voice. If you feel that everyone left at TCS are as you say "unemployable", please have the courage of your convictions and say it openly to our faces but of course be prepared to prove it. If your not sure enough and doubt your own words, please feel free to contact me and we can chat through our different perspectives and maybe come to a point of mutual respect and understanding. Looking forward to your email. Nigel

Nigel, I was made redundant by TCS in 2009. As a part of the settlement, I was required to sign a declaration that I would not subsequently criticise or say/write anything to harm the company or it's reputation. All those kicked out had to sign the same gagging order.
This is the reason for anonymity, rather than cowardise as you seem to imply.
If you could ask your employers to lift this clause in our settlements, I think many of us would be happy to have our names published.
Since my redundancy, I have been highly critical of TCS. This has included an article on the abuse of the ICT scheme in Computer Weekly as well as posts on this site.
For the record, I have a great deal of respect for ex-L&G people who remain at TCS, some of whom are firm friends.
Also for the record, I believe that the abuse of ICT continues and that TCS is one of the main offenders. I look forward to the day that this is recognised by the UK Borders Agency and appropriate action is taken.

So what happened at the AGM then? A big fat nothing by any chance?

Yes, looks that way - a big fat nothing. Those that have banged on for months about TCS ripping L&G off and things coming out at the AGM have only drawn attention from the real scandal - the abuse of the ICT regulations by TCS and the like.
Unless someone knows different?

Even though I am now an EX worker, I still have an interest in the IT industry, and in particular the destruction of that industry by the use of ICT visas. Are readers aware of the following; 1) ICT workers are exempt from National Insurance payments, both employees' and employers' contributions. If you find this hard to believe, check out the HMRC website. 2) Because a large slice of their 'salary' is accepted by HMRC as expense payments, they are effectively exempt from income tax as well. This expense scam also makes it easier for Tata to claim that the required minimum salary levels are being paid. 3) A recent EU ruling means that the flood of Indian ICTers will soon become a torrent, at a time when UK unemployment is nearly 3 million. Either there is a huge hidden agenda, or our so called 'leaders' really have gone insane.

I definitely think they have gone insane .. and they don't care as they think it is a 'boutique' problem so they don't NEED to care. What can we DO? Not for me .. but my and your kids....
