March has arrived and presumably no further announcement about BTS yet? Also, did P Grades received a Pay Review this year or is that on hold as well? Announcement next week. P grades pay review - who knows, next week as well I think? Looks like the job market is warming up as other companies begin to release budget held projects. L&G business leaders (at a middle level of course) are VERY worried about this outsourcing at a time when they want to kick off these held projects.

Details are being 'finalised' and we'll be told more next week.
We're also waiting to hear if we're getting a bonus/pay rise.
I feel like a mushroom - kept in the dark and fed on bull****.

I'm looking forward to the anouncement so I can get my golden handshake!
There is nothing keeping me here and I will make sure the company that try to rape my brain of my experience only get what they ask for and nothing more.
Keep the lights on and do as I'm told, its the new me. You can forget about housekeeping, documentation, customer service, sla's etc

Dont worry Doom, because of their inadequate management we all feel like mushrooms but hey they are shitting bricks hence her silly e-mails telling us what we already know through natural leakage. Looking forward to seeing how this plays out, its gonna be interesting if anyone actually kicks off and creates a fuss. We are just far too civilised for picket lines, hee hee

They love the rape business. But that's not the worst of it judging by what I've been hearing either....

IBM or Fujitsu , will know in July and all finished by end of year. What do you reckon on the chances of us being out by the end of the year. L&G are in for some fun. They may save up front costs but it will cost them in the end . Serves them right.

Surely, it's less 'risky' to manage your own data centre?
This is madness!
Say they sign a 5-year deal - whoever gets the contract has L&G over a barrel at renewal time.
You can't just move a whole data centre 'just like that'.
Lets just hope IBM or Fujitsu see sense and pull out once they see the tangled web of spaghetti the L&Gs IT runs on.

It's not (all) about risk, it's about money. Why would L&G spend £15,000,000 on building an on site data centre in a building whose lease they might not renew, when they can outsource the whole lot and it becomes someone elses problem.
We all know it's a huge mess, but whoever takes it on will just end up charging L&G additional huge sums to run it.

Why would L&G spend £15,000,000 on building an on site data centre in a building whose lease they might not renew, when they can outsource the whole lot and it becomes someone elses problem. RG specifically said it's not about money, it's about risk. He also said L&G recently signed a 25-year lease so I'm afraid you're misinformed on both counts. It's still L&G's problem if the outsourcing doesn't deliver the goods.
